77th Republic Day Celebration at SEC Bihar

The State Election Commission, Bihar, celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day with great patriotic fervor and institutional pride. The National Flag was unfurled by the Hon’ble State Election Commissioner, Sri Deepak Prasad, at the Commission's office premises. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the Tricolour, followed by the collective rendition of the National Anthem. Addressing the officers and staff, Sri Deepak Prasad emphasized the sanctity of our Constitution and the pivotal role of the State Election Commission in strengthening grassroots democracy through fair and transparent elections. He reflected on the commission's commitment to ensuring that every citizen's voice is heard at the Panchayat and Municipal levels, echoing the constitutional values of equality and justice. The event was attended by senior officials, including the Secretary and various cell heads, along with the dedicated staff of the commission. The celebration concluded with a call to uphold the democratic spirit and continue the legacy of excellence in electoral management.

Honorable Panchayati Raj Minister, Shri Deepak Prakash, recently visited the State Election Commission to review technical innovations implemented in previous polls and preparations for the 2026 Panchayat Elections. Key highlights of the visit include: High-Level Meeting: The Minister met with State Election Commissioner Dr. Deepak Prasad and senior officials from both the Commission and the Panchayati Raj Department. Technological Focus: A detailed PowerPoint presentation showcased advancements aimed at making elections more transparent and efficient. Discussions centered on the deployment of Multi-Post EVMs, technology-driven reforms, and necessary legislative updates. Innovative Systems: The Minister lauded the Commission's use of Facial Recognition System (FRS) for voter identification and OCR-based counting methods, which have modernized the process. Efficiency & Planning: Shri Prakash specifically praised the Commission for executing high-tech electoral tasks within a significantly optimized budget. He also reviewed logistics, election planning, and budget management for the upcoming 2026 cycle. Digital Transformation Showcase: Sikkim Delegation Visits Bihar Election Commission

Impressed by the efficiency and transparency of these reforms, the Sikkim SEC praised Bihar as a model for electoral excellence and requested institutional support to adopt these "Made in Bihar" innovations for Sikkim’s future local body polls.

ECIL visits for Multi-Post EVM

A technical team from ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited) visited the Bihar State Election Commission (SEC) today. The purpose of the visit was to conduct the First Level Checking (FLC) and inspection of the Multi-Post Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). These specialized machines are designated for use in the upcoming Panchayat and Local Body elections across the state. The inspection ensures the machines are fully functional and ready for deployment, upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
