The Honorable State Election Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Shantmanu, conducted an official study tour to the State Election Commission, Bihar, to observe its digital advancements in local body elections. During the visit, he reviewed several key technical reforms, including biometric/FRS voter verification, live webcasting of polling stations, OCR-based counting, and digital locking systems for strongrooms. Shri Shantmanu lauded Bihar’s efforts in making the electoral process more transparent and accessible through complete digitization. The event, hosted by Bihar’s State Election Commissioner Dr. Deepak Prasad, highlighted inter-state cooperation aimed at strengthening democratic trust through modern technology.
